Air Receivers
More about air receiver tanks
An air receiver is the storage tank that sits between your compressor and your air tools. It is a simple, inexpensive component that makes a surprising difference to how well your whole compressed air system runs.
What does an air receiver do?
A receiver stores a reserve of compressed air, smooths out the pressure fluctuations caused by variable demand, lets condensate settle and drop out, and reduces how often the compressor has to start and stop. Fewer starts means lower energy use and longer compressor life, as well as a steadier supply to your tools.
What size air receiver do I need?
As a rough guide, a larger receiver gives a more stable supply and fewer compressor starts. The right size depends on your compressor's output and how variable your air demand is: a site with big, intermittent draws benefits from more storage than one with steady demand. We stock vertical and horizontal receivers from around 24 litres up to 2000 litres and beyond, all CE-marked and pressure-tested.
Vertical vs horizontal air receivers
Vertical tanks save floor space and suit most installations, while horizontal tanks can double as a base for a mounted compressor or dryer. Fitting a receiver alongside a dryer and filtration gives the cleanest, steadiest air. Contact our team for help sizing the right receiver, with UK delivery on all tanks.
